Laundry Can Wait
I woke up this morning to a bomb going off in my house. You would think since we were out of town for the weekend that my house would be immaculate. Well working everyday last week which lead to last minute running around the house, throwing things in the car like a mad women kind of packing can lead to a giant mess believe it or not. Anyways I had planned to go with some friends and their kids to check out the Springs Preserve this morning but I wanted to stay home and recuperate from being on vacation. Since I work part time I feel like I have less time to accomplish the to do lists but it also makes me cherish the times I do get to spend with my boys. It's that one piece of advice that so many older moms have told me..."live in the moment", "the cleaning can wait", "enjoy them while they are young it goes by fast". So with their thoughts constantly running through my mind I said screw it to the to do list and off we went. I left the unpacked suitcases, the toys everywhere, the mountain of clean laundry needing to be folded and the half eaten breakfast on the table and off we went.
It was a glorious and freeing accomplish for me to live in that moment because the laundry really can wait. We ended up staying for the three hours! The boys both had a great time and I ended up trading in my day pass for a year membership ($8 for a day pass or $25 for the year and it was a no brainer for us). They had two different inside museum exhibits and an a couple different outdoor exhibits as well. Lucky for us it was an unusual overcast morning for July in Vegas and we enjoyed an awesome adventurous morning out there. Now hours later the laundry is finally being attacked, the toys are slowly finding their way back and I've created fun and lasting memories with my Wells boys
